This is my midterm project in my Introduction to Ceramics class, and the 'final' project for handbuilding. I was drawing the Zombster beastie (denizen of Mortasheen, property of ~scythemantis) while the assignment was being given, and the assignment was to make a 'dwelling' with slab (IE, anything that resembles some sort of home in one form or another, with free roam on creativity. At least three people did shoes, to prove that this was a pretty open-ended project). I was joking with the TA and it was brought up that I do the 'creature in that drawing' as my project, and I decided, hell! Why not? So I did.

High-fired stoneware clay body, Long Beach Blend. Glazes used are Eggshell (claws, feet tips, teeth, coffin interior, skull design), Iron Blue (coffin edges), Majolica (Eyes), Tenmoku (for the inside of the mouth), and Shino (Zombster's tail, as well as a light-and-washed-off pseudolayer around the rest of the body). Also used oxides, including iron ('wood' parts), cobalt (pupils), and... I think rutile (rest of Zombster himself). Whole thing took a while over two weeks. I have no idea what grade I'm getting on it, but the TA and the professor really loved it.
