Randomed Terraria Gals by Daimera Randomed Terraria Gals by Daimera
Something drastically different from my usual stuff. At least, in terms of art style. I mean, not different for ME, but not a style I post a lot. Really quick sketches with relatively quick coloring.

Auraion, Arynna, and Arlian are three characters from Terraria runs that I’d gotten with the random function. My main (Daimera) was based on the human form of the character whose name I use for online shenanigans, and Shadra was based on another character of mine, so I didn’t bother to draw them.

Auraion was originally rolled up for a Mage Tower theme/challenge map that my friends wanted to try out. She basically kept her gear from that, though I did steal from some other maps to get her advanced hardmode magic, since there’s no way she’s tackling hardmode in Meteor Armor (which is what she has on under the robe). I eventually developed her character further and she became a reknown “scholar thief” who later challenged Rhebic Sister Harvest but eventually got ‘hired’ by the eldritch world-collector to maintain, stock, and protect the Rhebic’s grand dark library.

Arynna was my first solo character which I took from scratch to hardmode, which I successfully defeated (IE, I collected just about everything, including items using hardmode boss souls). I decided she’d be an alternate form of my character Amirite - either one of the beings that the grydwurm devoured and assimilated before she grew a conscience, or a literal AU that’s just her as a human if she had the ability to take a human form. Full Hallowed gear, but with silver in social - I love the general aesthetic of the Hallowed gear, except how on female sprites the chestplate turns into an armored bikini top. Seriously, why.

Arlian (I swear, I just tapped up a random phonetic I liked, but when I looked it up later I found out that was the name of the filler bug race in DBZ) is a character I’m taking through the game now, another from-scratch run to see how far I can get before 1.2 gets released (currently sitting on 28 hours in the past three days, but I’m taking a bit of a break). She’s currently in hardmode in Mithril gear (gold in social), tried twice to defeat the Destroyer but to no avail. NO idea how I pulled it off on Arynna, but I suspect she was in full Adamantine before I gave the fight a shot. Also I’m several months out of practice. =3=;;;

The colors are pretty clashy and gaudy and eye-burning, but I was just taking colors off the sprites (using the default, unarmored clothes colors for bits that weren’t just straight up armor sets). Just recall that these were random, so the colors were random as well.

Three signatures because these were initially individual pics, I just combined them for DA because I didn't feel like uploading three things

I think the girl on the left is holding a Fazorblade Typhoon on her left hand

Surprising considering I drew this long before Duke Fishron was even introduced; in fact, this was drawn before 1.2 was released. I just chose a random book color (the character is a sorceress librarian), so it's mere coincidence that they eventually made a book using that color.

Haha, thanks!

It's actually silver armor, as much as I like the implied aesthetic of the Hallowed set, the fact that goes battle-bikini on female sprites is something that just doesn't sit well with me, haha.

Fair enough. It's not really good armour if it doesn't protect all of your body...

The devs have every right to evoke faulty video game logic in a silly game about eyeballs with teeth and killer unicorns... but that doesn't mean the players have to agree with it. c_c;;  Oh man, the flame-wars that have occurred on the official forums over that subject...

really? I'm not actually that familiar with Terrara. Or flame wars for that matter...

Heres a helping hand for the hardmode bosses that requires remarkably little gear, but quite a chunk of heart statues. Using wooden platforms build an elevated platform with blocks spaced similar to this --[]--[]--[]-- where - = a wooden platform and [] = a block, flat top surface.  Put heart statues on each platform and wire them to pressure plates on each block. When you hp gets low, sprint across them. The platforms let bullets and flails pass through and makes it easy to kill certain of the hardmode bosses. keep potions in case of emergncy. If you manage to get a harp, dig underground just a little and put wooden platforms over the top. Play the harp like crazy while standing in one spot. Easy kill on the Destroyer. The probes give you hp and mana, but once they start running low, jump up to your elevated platform.

As to your art- looks good. I love what you did with Excalibur.

Mind, I mean it feels cheap because I would have to import heart statues from another map, and this run is a single-map challenge, and I never ran into any heart statues. I generally don't like abusing statues, though. Utilizing available resources is by no means a bad thing that I look down on, it's just a personal preference.

Using a harp is a no-go, though, not only is this character not a mage, but I'd have to have killed the Twins first, and I relegate fighting the Twins until after I've gotten a Megashark from the Destroyer, only because it's way easier than trying to hit them with a less-rapid gun (I could probably do it with a Clockwork Assault Rifle, but none dropped on this map after, like, 10 WoF kills. >:|)

That method feels cheap, though, but I did ultimately get the hardmode bosses done with Arlian. Adamantine gear, Philosopher's Stone, and Cross Necklace were the missing pieces to tank the Destroyer with a sword, got a lucky Unreal modifier on a Megashark, and the rest was history.

Thanks!

I forgot, do you take requests? These are so awesome I would love for you to draw Sakura.

Nope. I only take requests from REALLY close friends (there are only, like, maybe five people who qualify), and even then, they know better than to request art from me.

Lovely. :) I always love when Terraria gets some love. Also you put so much more thought into your characters than I do. XP

Thanks!

Yeah, I like to flesh out backstories and stuff for characters from anything remotely customizable, from Terraria, to Dark Souls, to WoW (when I still played). It's part of the fun of playing, for me.

I had backstories for my Dark Souls characters and WoW characters as well. :) I just never thought to do it with Terraria. No idea why! You've changed the game for me. ;P
