From the start, I didn't trust Dusknoir, and I knew there had to be more to Grovyle than just a petty thief. But when he saved us from the Luxio tribe that almost killed us(and succeeded in killing our third member, Niko) I started to question his betrayal. I was HAPPY when they caught Grovle. But the second he grabbed us..."I KNEW he was evil!"...And of course Taro refused to believe that conclusion. Idiot.(well, not really.)

I LIVE for the epic!

The first minor alarm bells first started going off in my head, not when Grovyle was caught, but when Dusknoir actually explained the whole "we're from the future" thing. You see... he's saying all these things about Grovyle... yet never for a moment does he mention a crucial factor: a MOTIVE. Dusknoir never mentions a motive for Grovyle doing what he did. So that led to two conclusions: a. Dusknoir didn't KNOW the motive or b. Dusknoir didn't want anyone to HEAR the motive, because it was actually a good one.

He really is a particularly good villain for the Pokemon games, and definitely the TOP villain for a PMD game. Team Meanies and Team Skull... don't honestly make too great of competition.

And for 15 minutes that does not look near half bad, particularly if you're just using color and not adding any effects like artificial glows and such. The shading is great and the pose is great and wonderfully dynamic. And the expression fits perfectly

Good job, in my opinion.

_{I really didn't trust anything in the game's plot, they were already messing with time from the get-go and it seemed way too easy for everything to switch around and/or get erased because of it, but if anything I WANTED Dusknoir to be a good guy after a while, and kind of dreaded the possibility that he might be evil 'cause he was cool (given I've something of a soft spot for big dark evil-looking brutes with soft hearts 'n all). Still, I'm gonna try and get a Dusksomething on my team later in the name of Dusknoir-before-he-became-a-douche. :]} *cough*

Thanks! Normally I'd add some superfluous lighting/glowing effects (you can see a tiny bit on his eye and the ball in his chestmouth), but I figured that'd go overboard here. I was also a bit leery about the pose, so thanks for reassuring me on that. XD;

It was the smile on the beach that more or less tipped me off, but I didn't trust him from the get-go. I mean, he's a big serious ghost-type, typical fare for villainry, and I'm not familiar with Pokemon games as being particularly deep. c_c; But after a few chapters of him being totally nice and stuff, I hoped he'd stay that way (I like contradictions when they're of a positive sort), and kind of dreaded the 180 I figured was inevitable due to the fact that they're messing with time itself. XD _{It still felt like a betrayal, but more on the part of the game's writers than on the part of Dusknoir himself.}

Grovyle, now, that's a weird issue. With his motive was so righteous, I'm surprised he didn't attempt to explain it out to the Lake Guardians the first time, instead of just stomping in and kicking their teeth out and making him look like a wanton ruffian. I guess the writers wanted to make the two so diametrically opposite from expectations so that less-suspicious/cynical players would be totally blown away, and I think it worked. XDD

I love Dusknoirz! And I love him even more because of Mystery Dungeon 2! I mean, many villains are admired not because of the bad things they do, but because they are cool. But not many people like Dusknoir from the game and it doesn't make sense. And he wasn't particullarly evil. He only did what he did because he was afraid of being erased from history. He didn't really want the planet destroyed. He was just selfish, not thinking of others needs first.

Haha, just because I I'm mad at him for pulling a 180 doesn't mean I don't like him. XD

Yeah, the part about being erased from the future made me a bit sad. I mean, he's a douche, but a douche with a purpose, albeit misguided. I'm not sure if something happens related to him later on in the plot, but I'm definitely going to try and recruit a Dusksomething (assuming that's even possible) to have on my team, because while the Dusknoir we grew to love may be gone from the future, everyone from the future had to have come from the past at some point, and who's to say that any Dusk- Pokemon met in the past aren't his past incarnation? Sometimes you have to make your own fun. XD

Yeah, maybe the Pokemon of the future will be reborn because they have past relatives after all. But history being re-done just changes their personalities or something so they don't remember what they did.

Also, it could mean that when they disappear, it's just because the planet's paralysis is stopped and the past was starting over. They will be reborn though because they were from the previous future.
