Originally "Speed Mode," but "Form" sounds squishier than "Mode." Kekeke.

This might not makes sense to people who haven't seen GaoGaiGar (Hell, it probably won't make sense to some people who HAVE), so I might as well sum up the idea. Byder and Grand Byder [link] are based off the official robots J-Der and King J-Der, respectively. J-Der basically consists of the head and arms of King J-Der. Therefore, Byder is made up of the head and arms of Grand Byder. Sans the arms here (as the arms would have formed Byder's legs).
_{Okay, maybe not. Ultimately, I abandoned the idea of giving Byder the legs. They're just bulky, and J-Der NEVER uses the cannons on them, anyway.}

This started as a mistake, where I drew the pic too big to fit the legs in. However, I found it a good chance to show off that spine. Since Byder's torso plugs out of Grand Byder's neck, I felt it would be suitably disturbing if there were some vertebrae that came out with it (as vertebrae are some of my faavorite biological structures, aesthetically). The legs are quite huge and clunky, anyway, so this form would be the "fly around and slice things to pieces" form (as it can still use Plasma Wing and Plasma Sword). Byder CAN take a form with legs, which is tentatively called "Blast Form," since the legs are lined with cannons. In that form, the spine shifts back a bit and becomes simply a tail.


Bydo belong to Irem. J-Der belongs to Sunrise. Byder is rather mine by virtue of WTF.


Note: Like the Grand Byder pic, 'Misc'd' this for category because it's equal parts GaoGaiGar and R-Type, which are an Anime and a Game, respectively. I can't put it in two categories, and it's impossible for me to favor one over the other. Sorry.
